(Manitoba, Canada), born and raised in Winnipeg, started her artistic journey on the piano at age 3. She began her formal dance training at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School under the leadership of Jacqui Ladwig (Davidson) and artistic director David Moroni, C.M. Ms. McLaren continued her dance training at the Ailey School in New York under the direction of the late Denise Jefferson. She has been a guest artist with Armitage Gone! Dance, Nilas Martin’s dance company, the Francesca Harper Project, and was a 2 year Ensemble/Understudy for the role of Ali in the Toronto Production of Mamma Mia! (Royal Alexandra Theater/Mirvish Productions). She was a member of Ailey II, and is currently in her 10th season with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. She was most recently a guest artist with Royal Ballet of London for Wayne McGregor’s 10th anniversary season, performing in a company collaboration in his famous work Chroma. She has also performed works by Judith Jamison, Ron Brown, Camille A Brown, Rennie Harris, Jacqueline Buglisi, Marcus Willis, Ohad Naharin, Jiri Kylian, Twyla Tharp, Maurice Bejart, and Azure Barton among others. Ms McLaren is proud to be a founding member of Project Inc.
